AFTER6 Location-Based Service Terms

Effective date: October 15, 2026

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights and obligations of AFTER6 (the "Company") and its users when a user (a member signed in to the Service who, as the subject of personal location information, agrees to these Terms and uses the location-based services) uses the location-based services on the Company's website (after6.io) and mobile apps (the "Service"). In these Terms, "Confirmation Records" means records confirming the use and provision of location information (who received it, how it was obtained, and when and how it was used or provided, excluding the location information itself).

Article 2 (Effect and Amendment of These Terms)

(1) These Terms take effect when the User agrees to them on the consent screen shown before the User first uses the location-based services. This agreement is separate from agreement to the AFTER6 Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and Users who do not agree can still use the Service other than the location-based services.

(2) The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that it does not violate applicable laws, and announces amendments within the Service from 7 days before the effective date. Changes that are unfavorable to Users or concern important matters are announced from 30 days before and also notified individually by the methods in Article 9(1) of the AFTER6 Terms of Service (in-service notifications and app push notifications).

(3) An amendment that expands the purposes of use, the scope of information used or the retention period of personal location information is not deemed agreed to by announcement alone; the Company obtains consent again before it applies. Users who do not agree may withdraw their consent.

Article 3 (Application of Related Laws)

Matters not set out in these Terms follow applicable laws, such as the Act on the Protection, Use, etc. of Location Information (the "Location Information Act"), and the AFTER6 Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Article 4 (Content of the Service, etc.)

(1) The location-based services and the purposes and periods of retention of personal location information are as follows.

ServiceDescription and purpose of retentionInformation usedWhere and how long it is kept
"Near me" discoveryShows nearby clubs, leagues, venues and guest games by distance from the User's current location, limited to the radius the User choosesCurrent location coordinates (reduced to roughly 1 km)Not stored on the Company's servers. Kept in the web browser for 1 hour and then deleted automatically (immediately when "Near me" is turned off); in the app, kept in device memory only while the app is running
Automatic home-area detectionWhen the User taps "Detect my location," finds the city and district from the current location and fills them into the profile home-area fieldCurrent location coordinates (roughly 1 km)Not stored. If the member reviews and saves the city and district found, they are kept as member information in the same way as a home area entered manually (not location information).

(2) Under Article 16(2) of the Location Information Act, the Company records and keeps Confirmation Records automatically, keeps them for 6 months from the date they are recorded, and destroys them without delay after that period. If the User withdraws consent, the related Confirmation Records are destroyed without delay.

(3) When the purpose of using personal location information has been achieved, the Company immediately destroys it, except for Confirmation Records.

(4) The Company receives personal location information once, through the device's location function, only when the User taps a location button ("Near me" or "Detect my location"). It does not receive location while the app is not on screen (in the background) and does not track location continuously.

(5) If the User has not consented or has not granted location permission, the Company does not use personal location information, and discovery results may be sorted by the home area the member entered manually or by a country- or city-level area estimated from the network connection. This estimate is not stored.

Article 5 (Fees and Conditions)

The location-based services are free of charge. Data charges follow the plan of the User's mobile carrier.

Article 6 (Addition and Change of Services)

When the Company adds or changes a location-based service, it reflects the change in Article 4, announces it under Article 2, and obtains consent again where necessary.

Article 7 (Restriction and Suspension of the Service)

The Company may restrict or suspend all or part of the location-based services where there is a ground for restricting use under the AFTER6 Terms of Service, or for unavoidable reasons such as equipment maintenance or failure or the suspension of an external service that provides location functions, and announces the reason and period within the Service. Where advance notice is not possible, it announces this afterwards.

Article 8 (Use or Provision of Personal Location Information)

(1) The Company provides services using personal location information only after stating them in these Terms and obtaining the User's consent.

(2) The Company does not provide Users' personal location information to third parties. To provide it to a third party designated by the User in the future, the Company will inform the User of the recipient and purpose in advance, obtain consent, and notify the User each time (under Article 24 of the Enforcement Decree of the Location Information Act, the User may choose to receive these notices in batches).

(3) The Company outsources the conversion of coordinates into city and district names for automatic home-area detection to Google LLC (Google Maps Platform, United States). Other processors (hosting, database, cache) are listed in Article 7 of the Privacy Policy.

(4) When consenting, the User may withhold consent as to purposes of use and parts of the services. The Company uses location only when the User taps the relevant location button, so the User can simply not use a service they do not want.

Article 9 (Restrictions on Use or Provision of Personal Location Information)

Except with the User's consent, where Confirmation Records are needed to settle fees, or where information is processed into a form that cannot identify a specific individual for statistics, academic research or market research, the Company does not use personal location information or Confirmation Records beyond the scope stated in these Terms or provide them to third parties.

Article 10 (Rights of Users and How to Exercise Them)

(1) Users may at any time withdraw all or part of their consent to the location-based services, and the Company destroys the personal location information and Confirmation Records for the withdrawn part without delay.

(2) Users may at any time ask the Company to temporarily stop using their personal location information, and the Company will not refuse. The following means are available.

  1. Turning off "Near me" on the discovery screen โ€” immediately stops location use and erases the coordinates left on the device.
  2. Turning off AFTER6's location permission in the phone's or browser's settings

(3) Users may ask to view, or be informed of, their Confirmation Records and the reasons for and details of any provision of their personal location information to a third party under law, and may ask for errors to be corrected.

(4) Users may exercise these rights on the settings screen in the Service or at support@after6.io, and the Company notifies the User of the outcome within 10 days of receiving the request.

Article 11 (Rights of Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them)

The location-based services can be used only by signed-in members, and member accounts can be created only by persons aged 14 or older. The Company therefore does not provide location-based services to children under 14 and does not operate a legal representative consent process. If it learns that personal location information of a child under 14 has been processed, it destroys it without delay.

Article 12 (Rights and Obligations of Guardians of Children Aged 8 or Under, etc., and How to Exercise Them)

The Company does not provide location-based services for the purpose of protecting the life or body of children aged 8 or under, etc., and does not obtain guardians' consent for such services.

Article 13 (Designation of the Location Information Manager)

The Company designates a Location Information Manager to properly manage and protect location information and handle Users' complaints; details are set out in the Addendum. If the manager changes, the Company announces it without delay.

Article 14 (Damages)

If a User suffers damage because of the Company's violation of Articles 15 to 26 of the Location Information Act, the User may claim damages, and the Company cannot be released from liability unless it proves that it acted without intent or negligence.

Article 15 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and jurisdiction over lawsuits concerning location information follows Article 35 of the AFTER6 Terms of Service.

Article 16 (Dispute Mediation, etc.)

If the parties cannot reach an agreement on a dispute concerning location information, the Company may apply for a ruling to the Korea Media and Communications Commission under Article 28 of the Location Information Act, and the Company or the User may apply for mediation to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (www.kopico.go.kr, 1833-6972).
